SECTOR Land, Animals & Environment
Land, Animals & Environment
Outdoor work with machinery, livestock, plants and trees.
Land-based work covers farming, horticulture, forestry, greenkeeping and animal care. Much of it is seasonal and physical, and almost all of it is short of skilled staff.
Specialist land-based colleges run these apprenticeships, often residentially, because the kit and the livestock have to be somewhere.
